Many of our Penny Selected Puzzles volumes are printed three times a year so they are promoted as "new" until subsequent volumes are available. Hope that helps clarify. We appreciate your interest in our puzzles!

Best,

Admin

Perhaps the time a particular volume is touted as "brand new" is linked to the frequency of the issuance of new volumes. With a puzzle type (such as Codewords) that comes out with new ones left and right, a volume number might not last long as "new" before being shouldered aside for the next new one. On the other hand, a type that comes out with a new volume, oh, say once a decade, might have a volume number be designated as "new" for some time. Or not. And 2011 wasn't too long ago. Or maybe there's a fixed rule: X amount of time is deemed necessary to be "brand new" so as not to be missed by the infrequent observer.

Hiya!

In Dell, there is usually a page number given for "on sale dates" at the bottom of the Table of Contents page. In PennyPress, the "on-sale dates" page is one of the very first in the front of the magazine.

Bernadette
