I love "Crazy for Sudoku," but I am curious why Dell decided to change it to this name. The old "Sudoku and More" title was what got me curious about it in the first place, since I like sudoku but really like other puzzles better (I'm a real nut for Trigons, Collectibles, and Cross Sums/Kakuro). It made me a little worried that the name change and now the online description might mean that it's going to become yet another all-sudoku magazine. I am currently a subscriber, partly because it's hard to find anymore (among the endless sea of magazines with nothing but sudoku).

I haven't seen Brain Boosters in the stores yet and am curious what kinds of puzzles are in it. If there are puzzles I really like, I might subscribe to it too.

I would love to see more pocketbook-sized variety magazines. It's all uniform books with sudoku, word search, fill-ins, and crosswords, aside from these few titles.

I have no idea why Dell decided on that name change. Actually, it's "Crazy for Sudoku Plus Variety Sudoku". I kind of like that name change because the mag has sumdoku and jigsaw sudoku, therefore it reminds me of the shortlived Variety Sudoku mag which only lasted like 2 issues.

As for Brain Boosters, check supermarkets, check bookstores such as Barnes and Noble, and perhaps a place like CVS pharmacy sells that mag.

...and it just gets worse. I get the feeling Dell is slowly abandoning the variety puzzles. *sigh*

I was a little giddy upon seeing a Crazy for Sudoku! Maximum Edition at one of my local bookstores, since they don't carry the regular run of it (I have a subscription).

But it's NOTHING BUT sudoku. Just like the other "Crazy for Sudoku!" title.

Sheesh, I can go to any store and buy some random book FILLED with sudoku puzzles. And Dell already has tons that are nothing but sudoku.

I am saddened. I like sudoku, but is that all there is now?

Seeketh, and ye shall findeth.

Out here in southern California, I have no probs with finding "Dell Crazy for Sudoku Plus Variety Sudoku".

Look in supermarkets. Look at stores such as Barnes and Noble. Maybe newsstands have the mag. Maybe pharmacies such as CVS or Rite Aid.

Hey, cut Dell some slack. The "Crazy For Sudoku Plus Variety Sudoku" has variety puzzles like kakuro, collectibles, bingo plays, trigons, Bingo Plays, and Eight Ball. Also, T Squares and Secret Squares.

Yes, they do still have Crazy for Sudoku Plus Variety Sudoku, but the name change and not finding it in ANY local stores (B&N, Books-a-Million, none of the supermarkets, not even Walgreens where I first saw one and picked it up because of its original title) has me considerably worried even though I have a subscription to it. And that's the issue I'm having. I have a real knack for finding something I really like and then learning that the producer has to cut production due to the cost versus only a few buyers. For instance, some of their other variety puzzle publications I liked are nowhere to be found now.

At least the Math & Logic Puzzles publication still seems to be going strong. But it doesn't fit neatly into my "backpack purse" like this one does. Any bags that it would fit in turn out to be too big for me to carry all day, but if worse comes to worst, I'll make some kind of adjustment so I could have it with me at doctors' offices etc.

Hopefully the recent mail-in survey will generate enough input for them to keep making it, perhaps consider re-renaming it to better indicate what's in there. I'm also hoping that someone from Dell sees this and knows at least one big fan is out there. :-)

Instead of hoping Dell will see this, why not contact Dell directly? The "contact us" page includes phone and email for customer service, and email for Dell editorial.

I guess I'm so used to the community and advice of fellow fans on forums, and the usual "I call/email a company and don't ever actually reach anyone." (Cue back to two companies who've disappointed me when they cut products I really liked, all I did was ask if there was a way I could get the products somewhere - no luck in getting a reply.)

I should try that then. :-) I don't think Dell/PennyPress would brush me aside.

Yes, the forums are great for when we can provide answers to each other, but in this instance only they can definitively tell you whether they will continue to have the exact product you prefer.

Thank you so much!

I am sorry I came across as whiny and desperate, but I really do like this publication and hope to see it with all these wonderful puzzles for many years to come.
