For anyone who might not already know it, December 12 will be the 100th anniversary of Frank Sinatra's birth and it seems like I am running into "Ol' Blue Eyes" everywhere! smile

I just received my December 15, 2015 issue of Spotlight Remember When Word Seek (it's the issue devoted to the 1930s and 1940s and it's my favorite one of the year!) and Frank Sinatra is on the cover. Also, I'm a huge fan of the Turner Classic Movies channel and next month Frank will be their "star of the month", with many of his films being featured.

I guess there's no telling where Frank may turn up next! wink

Hi Bernadette

I don't know if you've ever been to the Jersey shore, but on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant there was a house referred to as the "Sinatra House." The owners installed outside speakers and played Sinatra 24/7 to those who passed by. They even converted it into a memorabelia stop with a mini museum. Sadly, it was wiped out in hurricane Sandy.

My folks used to listen to "Saturday with Sinatra" hosted by Sid Mark or WWOR in NYC (at least I think that was the station). I have fond memories of our Saturday night car drives sitting in the back of the station wagon listening to Ol' Blue Eye's melodic pipes. Fortunately now in the age of internet and satellite radio, Francis Albert is available any time.

WWD in Philadelphia also had a Friday night radio show of Sinatra, during the 1970's or so. I don't know if they still have it.

It was likely the same, syndicated, show.

It is great to see any reference made to Ol' Blue Eyes. I personally think he was one of the greats on my era. Note my user name.

My husband was born in 1948 and Frank Sinatra has long been a favorite of his, too! In honor of Frank's 100th birthday, there have been a couple of special CD sets issued which have all of his radio broadcasts on them. I believe many of them have not been heard since they first aired. I bought one of these sets for my husband for Christmas and we've been enjoying it very much!

Today, 1/23/16, the "Nancy" comic strip had something about "Sinatra Saturday."
