I believe there is no solution to the "Good Deals" logic problem in the April 2016 issue. The solution in the back shows Peggy Farmer holding the A-Q in Round 3 and J-8-3 in Round 7. But Clue 10 reads "A card worth 5 points was dealt to a player of the same gender as the person who received the queen (who didn't win the seventh deal)." Peggy received the queen, therefore she could not have won the 7th deal. The explanation says that Peggy didn't win the 7th round with the Queen (clue 10), but that's not what the clue says. The clue says the person who received the queen didn't win the 7th deal.

The only way to get around this is to have the card worth 5 points and the queen go to Oliver and Tom, respectively, and A-10 going to Peggy. But that leaves Sally with the 4-4-4-9 and the 7-7-7 hands, which violates Clue #5.

Is there something that I'm missing? Thanks.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We should have been more careful with our wording in this puzzle. Clue 10 should state that the queen wasn't used to win the right to the seventh deal. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
