My friend gave me this puzzle and I can't figure it out. He always teases me when I try to answer it.
Can we please solve this? So that I can slap the answer to his face. XD
Here is the puzzle:
Draw one line to make the equation work. ( He says that the "Not Equal" is not the right answer )

19-18=18

Does it have to be a straight line?

Yes. The "1" are straight lines.

Here's the link to the image that he sent to me.

I'm sorry, I've thought about this problem, and I didn't come up with an answer. Only this: if you use your line to cross out the second 8, you get a correct equation. But an 8 with a line through it isn't the same thing as a missing 8, so I'm not sure.

Wow, okay. I have an answer but I have no idea if it's right. I'll put a hint and then some spoiler space first.

HINT: The line goes on the right-hand side of the equation.

HINT: It crosses over existing numbers.

So I'm thinking if you draw a straight, horizontal line across the 18 on the right-hand side, so that it divides the number in half to look like "10 / 10," that would evaluate to 1, which is also 19-18.

Not sure if the answer is that convoluted though! Let us know!
