The beginning of the solution to this puzzle says Jinny can't be either 1 minute or 5 minutes due to clue #1. It is clear why she can't be 1 minute from this clue but can somebody explain why the clue also rules out 5 minutes?

Can any fans of Dell logic problems help braggin? They've been waiting over 4 weeks without a reply. If you have the April 2018 issue of the Dell logic magazine that has this puzzle, perhaps you can offer an explanation.

I grabbed the book out of my stack of unsolveds and it's pretty clear. The clue says:

"Jinny (who didn't have the slowest solving time) took longer to unscramble..."

The slowest solving time (that is the time that was the longest) is five minutes. The parenthetical reference eliminates 5, and the "took longer" eliminates 1.

Hope that helps!
