Dear Editors,

I recently completed a special crossword in Classic Variety Puzzles Plus Crosswords, Issue #380, January 2011, page 66, puzzle #25 called "Buried Treasure." It had 9 shaded words in the diagram that were related, each whose clue was "Treasure word." That was fun, and I wouldn't mind seeing some more of those!

Frances.

Dear Frances,
Thank you for letting us know how much you enjoyed the Buried Treasure crossword in the January 2011 issue of Classic Variety Puzzles Plus Crosswords. Although there are no Buried Treasure puzzles currently slated to appear in upcoming issues, if you’re going back through old issues you’ll find the puzzle also ran in the November 2011 issue of Classic Variety Puzzles Plus Crosswords and the April 2011 and October 2011 issues of Family Variety Puzzles & Games Plus Crosswords.
We always enjoy hearing from our solvers regarding puzzle types they would like to see more often. If there are other solvers out there who enjoy Buried Treasure crosswords, please let us know!

I'll be on the lookout for them---thanks a bunch!
Frances.
P.S. Now you've got a "reputation" on your profile page.

I have no idea what that is. I'm hoping it's good. CC

It's good. I gave your post of December 16 a "thumbs up", and a little green '+1' indicating that was put at the bottom right in the post. Then a green '1' was transferred to your profile page* after "reputation." A tally of the "ups" and "downs" from all your posts is listed there. (Thumbs down would be in red, with a minus sign.)

Well, perhaps leonshoner is responding to the Editors' post in this thread and is expressing his appreciation of Buried Treasure Crosswords. Maybe he'll come back and clarify it.

So "Buried Treasure" is a type of crossword or the theme of the puzzle? I'll need to scour my magazines for an example.
