The November 2008 of DM&LP, "Battery Run" on page 65 has 7 solutions. Clue 4 say " Fred found four batteries in the kid's room." This clue can either be 4A's or 4D's. If you use 4D's as assumption, this would be the only one solution. However, if you use 4A's as assumption, there are six other solutions. To get the one solution that are correct, clue 4 should say "Fred found four D's batteries in the kid's room."

Thank you for your posting. We appreciate your pointing out the error in the November 2008 issue of Dell Math Puzzles and Logic Problems. Logic Problem 16 should have contained the following clue: "The tape recorder didn't contain A batteries." Here at Dell Magazines, we do our best to ensure error-free publications. Each magazine undergoes extensive testing and proofreading; however occasionally a mistake slips through. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this matter and hope you will continue to enjoy our Logic Problems. Thanks again for your message and best wishes.

Just encountered this error today myself! There definitely seemed to be too little battery information left when you reached a certain point (i.e. nearly done). Thanks to the original poster for spotting it and bringing it to the forum.
