I'M HAVING SO MUCH TROUBLE WITH LOGIC PROBLEM #14 ("A LOOK BACK TO LAST SEASON") IN THE JANUARY 2009 ISSUE OF LOGIC LOVER'S MATH & LOGIC PROBLEMS. I KNOW THAT EACH TEAM PLAYED 10 GAMES. AND THERE ARE 5 TEAMS IN THAT LEAGUE, SO RESPECTIVELY THERE WERE 50 GAMES PLAYED ALTOGETHER. I ALSO KNOW THAT EACH TEAM WON 1 GAME AND LOST 1 GAME. SO THERE ARE 8 GAMES UNACCOUNTED FOR. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME SOLVE THIS PUZZLE WITH THE SOLUTION!

Without understanding the entire logic problem, with 5 teams playing 10 games each, wouldn't that mean there would be a total of 25 games played and not 50?

Thank you for your posting. As your fellow solver (gap22) pointed out, the five teams played ten games each, but because each game was played by two teams, there were only 25 different games in total. Please feel free to write back with any other comments or concerns you may have. Best wishes.
